BMW R1150R

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The BMW R1150R is a standard motorcycle, also called a roadster, made by BMW Motorrad and produced from 2001 through 2005 as the successor to the R 1100 R, which had been discontinued in 1999. It was marketed as a road-going motorcycle suited to general commuting as well as sports touring, with 85 bhp, and in 2006 the R 1200 R succeeded it. Compared with the related R 1150 RT touring motorcycle, R 1150 RS sport-touring bike and R 1150 GS dual-sport bike, the R roadster was the non-specialist version, aimed at the all-rounder niche and emphasising balanced traits and versatility. It had a Telelever front suspension and a Paralever rear, and anti-lock brakes were an option.
