BMW R 25/2

The BMW R 25/2 was a single-cylinder motorcycle of the Bayerische Motoren Werke built from 1951 as the successor to the R 25, which it differs from only slightly: it has a neutral-gear indicator lamp built into the headlamp shell and several chromed parts that were still painted black on the R 25. Its engine is a longitudinally mounted four-stroke single with a side camshaft and pushrods running in chromed tubes beside the cast-iron cylinder, working overhead valves through rocker arms. The welded tubular frame has ball heads for a sidecar. At the end of 1951 it cost 1990 marks, and production ended in October 1953 after 38,651 had been made, when the R 25/3 went into series production.
