BMW R 1150 R Rockster

The BMW R 1150 R Rockster is an unfaired motorcycle from BMW with a two cylinder boxer engine. The naked bike was first shown as a design study at the Intermot motorcycle show in Munich in September 2002, series production began in 2003 at the BMW plant in Berlin Spandau, and production stopped at the end of the 2005 model year. It was derived in 2003 from the R 1150 R and has several mechanically similar sister models in the 1150 boxer series, the R 1150 RS, R 1150 ST, R 1150 RT and R 1150 GS. The fork, instruments and wheels come from the R 1100 S and the twin headlights from the R 1150 GS, and further differences from the R 1150 R include a blue frame, a black engine block, a handlebar 40 millimetres wider and a shorter gearbox ratio. The air and oil cooled engine makes 64 kilowatts, runs on 95 octane premium petrol through manifold injection and meets the Euro 2 limits, and the drive goes through a six speed gearbox and a shaft with the Paralever single sided swingarm. Ready to ride it weighs 238 kilograms. A limited Edition 80 of 2,003 bikes marked the 80th anniversary of BMW in 2003.
