BMW K1300R

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The BMW K1300R is a naked motorcycle that BMW made from 2008 to 2015. When launched it replaced the K1200R as BMW's flagship urban motorcycle. BMW says it produces 173 hp (129 kW) at 9,250 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 8,250 rpm from a 1,293 cc inline-four engine that was subtly modified by the British company Ricardo plc. It has an exhaust butterfly flap to boost torque and improve exhaust note, optional ESA-II electronic suspension adjustment and a conventional indicator switch instead of BMW's usual three-button configuration. It is considered a muscle bike, and Bike Magazine in the UK measured 0 to 100 km/h in 2.81 seconds, the fastest accelerating naked motorcycle, one tenth of a second ahead of the Suzuki B-King. It was never offered for sale in the United States, though it was sold in Canada, and a modified K1300R appeared in the 2013 film Dhoom 3.
