The BMW F650CS was a standard motorcycle made by BMW Motorrad from 2001 to 2005. CS stood for city/street, as it was aimed at urban commuters, and it was also known as the Scarver, a blend of street and carver. It was the third generation of the F650 single series, after the 1993 to 2001 F650 and the 2000 to 2007 F650GS, and was known for offbeat styling intended to attract new motorcyclists. The American designer David Robb, Vice President of BMW Motorrad Design from 1993 to 2012, designed it as the result of a partnership between BMW and Aprilia. Its consumer-appliance look, with striking coordinated body panels, a space-age instrument panel, translucent grab handles and a small transparent windscreen, led reviewers to compare it with Apple products, and 24 permutations of panel and seat colour were offered.
