Kawasaki Ninja ZX-9R

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-9R is a 900 cc class sport bike in the Ninja series that Kawasaki produced from 1994 until 2003, in five model incarnations across two basic designs. Kawasaki developed it to answer the Honda CBR900RR Fireblade, launching it at the 1993 Paris show with sales from 1994. The first B models had a perimeter aluminium frame and a carburetted 899 cc inline-four making 139 horsepower with ram-air intakes. The 1998 C models had a new engine and a lighter chassis that cut weight by 77 lb. The 2000 E models added twin headlights and a stiffer frame, and the 2002 and 2003 F models a braced swingarm and new brakes. A tuned 2000 bike ran the quarter mile in 10.06 seconds and the ZX-10R replaced it in 2004.
