The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is a 600 cc class sport bike in the Ninja series, introduced in 1995 and updated repeatedly to answer the Honda CBR600, Suzuki GSX-R600 and Yamaha YZF-R6. The first model borrowed the look and ram-air intake of the 1994 ZX-9R. A 1998 revamp lifted power from 100 to 108 BHP, and for late 2002 Kawasaki enlarged the engine to 636 cc and sold a separate 599 cc ZX-6RR for racing classes, which won the Masterbike supersport award in 2004 and 2005. The 2007 model had a new compact engine, 2009 brought an angular ZX-10R look and Showa big piston forks, and 2013 saw the 636 return with traction control and optional ABS. Euro 4 and Euro 5 updates followed for 2019 and 2024, the latter with a colour TFT dashboard. The ZX-6R won the Supersport World Championship in 2001, 2012, 2015 and 2016.
