The Kawasaki Ninja 400 is a 399 cc sport bike in Kawasaki's Ninja range, introduced for the 2018 model year as the successor to the Ninja 300, which was struggling to meet Euro 4 emission standards. It has a steel trellis frame with the engine as a stressed member, which together with other changes makes it about 8 kg lighter than the Ninja 300 despite the larger engine. Its styling follows the Ninja H2 and Ninja ZX-10R, with LED headlights and taillights, a stiffer suspension with a 41 mm fork and a slipper clutch, and ABS is available. It was shown at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, reached the United States in December 2017, Japan in February 2018 and India in April 2018, where it is assembled at Chakan. The Z400 is its naked sibling. The Ninja 500 replaced it in the United States for 2024.
