The Honda RC213V is a Japanese motorcycle developed by Honda Racing Corporation for road racing in the MotoGP series from the 2012 season, when the rules allowed up to 1,000 cc with a limit of four cylinders and an 81 mm bore. The name reads RC for the four-stroke racing prefix, 213 for the third works bike of the twenty-first century and V for V engine. The main design changes from the RC212V were its 1,000 cc displacement and 90-degree cylinder angle, which raised displacement without lifting the centre of gravity and gave better primary balance, and saved the weight of a balance shaft and an idle gear. A limited run of hand-built road-going RC213V-S replicas was introduced in 2015, with a Sports Kit upgrade package for non-road use.
