Honda Euro Sport

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The Honda Euro Sport, or VT500E Euro, is a motorcycle in the Honda VT series, made between 1983 and 1987, though it sold only about a tenth as many as the CX500 it replaced, at least in Germany. Although it looks entirely different, the VT500E Euro is actually quite close in principle to the VT500FT Ascot, and all three, with the VT500C Shadow cruiser, shared the same VT500 engine and drivetrain. The Euro was meant to be a sporty bike with sport touring aspirations, and a big 17 litre tank gives it a much greater range than the other two. The footpegs sit further back and the handlebars are lower than on the Ascot and especially the Shadow, without being anywhere near racy. Its 50 hp took it to 187 km/h when tested by the German magazine Motorrad.
