The Honda CBR250F, also known as the CBR250 Four, is a CBR series 249 cc four-cylinder sport bike made by Honda and first sold in Japan in 1986. Motorcycle racing was popular at the time, with the Japanese Grand Prix and the Suzuka 8 Hours drawing large crowds, and licensing restrictions in Japan meant that small-displacement motorcycles made up the bulk of motorcycle sales, so the 250 cc sport bike was born. Other Japanese manufacturers designed 250 cc four-cylinder sport bikes too, such as the Suzuki GSX-R250, Yamaha FZR250 and Kawasaki ZXR250. The later CBR250RR MC22 was discontinued in Japan in 1996, but sales continued in Australia until 2000.
