BMW M 1000 RR

The BMW M 1000 RR is a high-performance sports motorcycle that BMW Motorrad has offered since 2021 as the M version of its S 1000 RR superbike, the M standing for the performance division BMW M GmbH. It is recognisable by bodywork trimmed for downforce, with winglets on the fairing and a racing windscreen. For it BMW developed a racing brake with Nissin, fitted a 200/55 ZR 17 rear tyre as on the HP4 and reduced engine friction, which raised output to 156 kW (212 PS) at 14,500 rpm, while carbon in the fairing and wheels brought the ready-to-ride weight down to 192 kg. A 2022 anniversary edition called M RR 50 Years M added a lighter aluminium swingarm and M Competition parts. After BMW won the 2024 Superbike World Championship a revised M 1000 RR followed, with 160 kW (218 PS) and larger winglets said to produce 30 kg of downforce at 300 km/h. It is also raced by the factory in the Endurance World Championship.
