BMW HP4 Race

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The BMW HP4 Race is a 999 cc four-cylinder sport bike that BMW Motorrad made in 2017 in a limited production run of 750 units. It is a non-street-legal, track-only version of the HP4 variant of the S1000RR and, like the Honda RC213V-S and Ducati Superleggera, does not qualify for any race series; it was built to display technological prowess rather than for homologation. BMW claims 215 hp (160 kW) at 14,500 rpm, owing to a higher rev limit than the normal HP4, which BMW says makes 193 hp (144 kW) at 13,900 rpm. Most of its engine and design come from the S1000RR with many components retuned and greater adjustability, including a rake of 24.5 degrees, and it has an all-carbon-fibre chassis that BMW says weighs 7.8 kg, an extensively carbon fibre fairing, a GP style shift pattern, traction and wheelie control and a quickshifter, with no lights or mirrors.
