The Burgman series of scooters, known in Japan as the Skywave, is produced by Suzuki with engine capacities from 125 cc up to 638 cc. The line began in 1998 with the AN250 and AN400Y; in 2002 the AN250 was replaced in Europe by the UH125, which meets learner-licence rules, though the AN250 continued in other countries. The fuel-injected AN2 series launched in 2002 in UH125, AN400 and AN650 variants with a redesigned fairing, more storage and one more litre of fuel capacity, with optional ABS on the larger two. The AN400 reached US markets in 2002 and the AN650 the year after, Suzuki added an up-market AN650A Executive outside the US in 2004, and the Burgman 400 was totally redesigned in 2018.
