The Joker is a Honda scooter made from 1996 to 1999. It was first launched in Japan in 1996 and then sold in Europe and the United States, where it was renamed the Honda SRX50 and SRX90 Shadow, in two versions with a 49 cc or a 90 cc two-stroke engine. The design concept was based on basic transportation combined with the custom motorcycles of the United States, which gave the small scooter a low, cruiser-like look. Its short production life of about three years and its different names in different markets mean that it is easy to overlook, but it shows how Honda tried to give a simple step-through machine the styling cues of American custom bikes.
