The Honda FC50, also known as the Honda Beat, is a 50 cc scooter that Honda manufactured in 1983. It was produced mainly for the Japanese domestic market, although new and used models were exported, which makes it a fairly hard scooter to find. It came in red, black or white. It was powered by a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, two-stroke petrol engine, one of the most powerful in its class, with a small radiator behind the grille between the two headlights. It had 12 volt electric start and CVT transmission, which changed from low to high at around 5,500 rpm, and an automatic centrifugal clutch that engaged gradually from 3,000 rpm. It carried one person only, with no provision for a passenger, and had V-TACS, a small valve in the exhaust port operated by a lever under the rider's left heel to give more power from 5,500 rpm.
