The Suzuki V-Strom 1050, also known as the DL1050, is a dual-sport motorcycle with a 1037 cc V-twin engine and a standard riding posture, manufactured in Japan by Suzuki since 2020 as the replacement for the V-Strom 1000. It was unveiled at EICMA in 2019 and takes its styling from the Suzuki DR-Z series, specifically the DR-Z Dakar and the DR-BIG. The name combines V, for the engine layout, with the German Strom, meaning stream or power, and the engine descends from the V-twin first designed for the TL1000S and TL1000R, modified to meet Euro5. It was fully redesigned for 2020 with drive-by-wire throttles, a traction control system with four sensitivity modes, a three-mode Drive Mode Selector, an Easy Start System and a full LCD dashboard, and it comes as the base DL1050, the better-equipped XT and the top XT Adventure.
