The Honda XLX250R (model code MD08) was a motorcycle that Honda Motor Co. built and sold in Japan. It was announced on 11 April 1983 and went on sale the next day as a 250 cc light-motorcycle class dual-purpose model, the full redesign and successor of the MD03 XL250R that had been sold since November 1981. The X added to the third position of the name was meant to mean the ultimate within the XL series. The frame changed from a diamond type to a newly designed chrome-moly steel semi-double-cradle type, while the main layout of the XL250R was kept: telescopic front suspension with cylindrical air springs, a Pro-Link swingarm at the rear and spoked wheels with aluminium alloy rims, fitted with 3.00-21 front and 4.60-17 rear tyres. The instruments are square twin speedometer and tachometer dials, and two body colours were set.
