The Honda XL185 is a dual-sport motorcycle produced by Honda, an updated version of the XL175. It has a 180 cc four-stroke SOHC engine, and its instrument cluster contains a speedometer, an odometer and a resettable trip meter. Mechanically its engine is similar to that of the Honda ATC185 all-terrain cycle, and this engine was used as the basis for the version that Honda's racing service centre supplied to Colin Seeley for the hand-built Seeley TL200 trials bike. The motorcycle has a compression release, also called a decompressor valve, connected to the kick starter with a cable to ease starting. The XL185S was later replaced as Honda's small dual-sport by the CRF230L, which was the company's first new dual sport in sixteen years.
