The Honda NX125 (model code JD09) was a dual-purpose motorcycle of the 125 cc Class 2 moped category that Honda Motor Co. built and sold in Japan. It was announced on 22 February 1988 and released on 10 March 1988. It was a full redesign of the JD04 XL125R that had been sold since 1982, with many components carried over, and was built on the concept shared with the AX-1 of 1987 and the export-only NX650 Dominator: a sport bike that balances the strengths of the earlier land-sport and super-sport bikes, giving priority to ordinary urban riding performance and ease of handling over off-road ability. It was the low-end model of the NX series. Its 124 cc air-cooled four-stroke SOHC single-cylinder JD09E engine, with a 56.5 by 49.5 mm bore and stroke, a compression ratio of 9.4 and 12 ps at 9,500 rpm, shares its basic design with the engine of the 1975 CB125JX. The Japanese article does not use the Transcity name that the queue title carries.
