The Honda Crosstourer, also called the VFR1200X, is an adventure motorcycle that Honda has made since 2012, announced at the 2011 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. Its 1,237 cc V4 engine is a re-tuned version of the one first used in the 2010 VFR1200F, with revised fuel injection mapping, camshaft and valve timing to give 95 kW instead of 127 kW but with power focused at low and middle engine speeds. It is offered with a six-speed manual gearbox or a dual clutch transmission, which lets the rider change gears without a clutch lever or leave it to the gearbox, and like the VFR1200F it has shaft final drive. It was launched to compete in the adventure-touring market with the BMW R1200GS, the Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere and the Triumph Tiger Explorer.
