The Honda CL450 was the dual sport or scrambler model of Honda's 450 cc DOHC parallel-twin motorcycle, the sister bike to the CB450. Available at first in kit form for the 1967 CB450, it was officially released in 1968 as the CL450K1 in silver, candy red and candy blue, and that year it gained a five-speed gearbox in place of the older four-speed. The differences from the CB450 were mostly cosmetic, chiefly the off-road-style high-level exhaust. It was rated at 42 hp at 9,650 rpm, nearly 100 hp per litre, and rubber-mounted handlebars were added to reduce vibration. When the CB450 gained a front disc brake in 1970 the CL450 kept two drum brakes, and it was built in much smaller numbers than the 350 to 360 cc scramblers.
