The BMW F650 family is the line of single-cylinder motorcycles that BMW Motorrad began in 1993 with the F650St Strada, followed in 1994 by the dual-purpose F650 known as the Funduro. It was the first single-cylinder BMW since the R27 of the 1960s and the company's first chain-driven motorcycle. The bikes were designed jointly with Aprilia, who assembled them in Italy around an Austrian 652 cc Rotax engine. In 2000 the F650GS and F650CS Scarver replaced them, and the F650GS went on to sell more than 105,000 units before it ended production in 2007.
