The BMW F series parallel-twin is a family of dual-sport motorcycles that BMW Motorrad builds in Berlin, launched in 2008 with the F650GS and F800GS and joined by the F700GS in 2012 and the long-tank F800GSA in 2013. Despite the model numbers, every bike shares essentially the same 798 cc parallel-twin engine, with different power outputs and equipment levels, so the number does not describe engine capacity. The F800GT and F800S use belt drive. The twin was first fitted to the F800S, and the GS versions have longer suspension travel for riding off-road.
