The Honda CZ100 was the Honda Motor Company's first minibike sold to consumers, introduced in 1963 after Honda saw how well the Z100 prototype was received at Tama Tech park. The park opened in 1961 as a Honda-owned venue for motorsports, where Honda first showed a minibike called the Z100 and noticed that visitors loved it, so Honda decided to make a street-legal version. By 1963 it had created a production version, the CZ100 Mark I, with a white fuel tank and a rigid frame painted red, and in 1964 it released the bike in the Japanese market as the CZ100. The CZ100 Mark II series that followed was virtually identical to the Mark I apart from paint, with the tank and frame both painted red.
