Peter Egan and Steve Kimball of Cycle World magazine took a stock Honda C70 Passport to the Craig Vetter Fuel Economy Challenge in 1981, where it competed with specially designed high mileage two wheelers built by teams of engineering students. The course was a 65 mile loop near San Luis Obispo, and Kimball, riding the Passport, won the event with 198 miles per US gallon. The sources used for this page record no other change specific to the 1981 model year, so this page claims none.
