The third period of the Honda Super Cub starts in 1982, when most markets received a capacitor discharge ignition and a 12 volt electrical system to meet emission standards. In 1984 Honda released restyled Cubs with square lamps and a fully automatic three-speed gearbox on the C50, and from 1986 a larger 100 cc model was developed for Southeast Asia, which Honda Japan began importing as the Super Cub C100EX in 1988. Wikipedia does not number the generations of the Super Cub, so this page groups its model years by the dates the article documents. Each model year has its own page.
