Honda CG125 (Japanese production, 1976 to 1984)

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

Honda developed the CG125 from the CB125 for the markets of developing countries, and the two models were very similar with many parts in common; the main difference was in the top ends, as the CB had an overhead cam. Many Honda OHC engines of that era had poor cam chains and tensioners and tended to wear the camshaft bearings if oil changes were skipped, and Honda developed the CG engine specifically to address this problem, since it realised that riders in developing countries did little or no preventative maintenance. The CG was originally manufactured in Japan from 1976. Each model year has its own page.
