In 1976 Honda introduced the CB750A Hondamatic to the United States, the A suffix designating Automatic. Its two-speed transmission had a torque converter but did not change gear by itself, each gear being selected by a foot-controlled hydraulic valve. The CB750A used the same engine detuned to 7.7:1 compression with smaller carburettors, giving 47 PS. The year also had the CB750K6 and CB750F1 models.
