Suzuki GSX1100F

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The Suzuki GSX1100F is a sport touring motorcycle that Suzuki introduced in October 1987 as part of its GSX series, with a 16 valve engine and a five speed gearbox. It had a full touring fairing and was noted for an electrically powered, height adjustable windscreen that was prone to failure. The engine came originally from the GSX-R1100 but was retuned to give more low end and mid range power. Panniers by the German company Krauser were an option from new on some bikes and carried the Suzuki logo. The factory exhaust was a twin system with two cylinders exhausting to each side, and some aftermarket systems needed the centre stand removed. The seat height of 795 mm and the seat shape let a rider of 166 cm sit comfortably, and depending on the market the bike carried the name Katana.
