The Kawasaki Concours 14, sold in some markets as the 1400GTR or ZG1400, is a sport touring motorcycle that Kawasaki introduced in September 2007 on the ZX-14 platform. It replaced the original GTR1000 Concours, built from 1986 to 2006. Its transverse inline-four of 1,352 cc has variable intake valve timing derived from a Mitsubishi car engine and makes about 153 hp, and the Tetra-Lever shaft drive suspension answers the shaft effect much as BMW's Paralever does. It has keyless ignition, a slipper clutch and, from 2010, traction control and the K-ACT linked braking system. Motorcycle Consumer News measured a top speed of about 246 km/h. From 2018 it was dropped in Europe, Asia, Australia and Brazil and stayed on sale in the Americas. Police forces in some countries convert it to patrol bikes.
