The Honda Crossrunner, also called the VFR800X, is a versatile touring motorcycle that Honda launched at the 2010 EICMA Milan Motorcycle Show and put on sale in 2011. Its 782 cc V4 engine was derived from that of the VFR800 sport tourer, but the Crossrunner has a low saddle, wide handlebars, long-travel suspension and special Pirelli Scorpion tyres better suited to soft roads. Honda commissioned a European design team to help develop it, and prototypes went through more than 120 wind tunnel sessions to find the best aerodynamic stability. In September 2014 Honda Motor Europe announced a revised 800 cc V4 and new bodywork, with changes to suspension, brakes and wheels, for the 2015 VFR800X.
