BMW R1200ST

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The BMW R1200ST is a sport touring motorcycle that BMW Motorrad introduced in 2005 to replace the R1150RS. It has the same 1,170 cc flat-twin engine, six-speed gearbox and shaft drive as the R1200RT, but it is a sport-oriented motorcycle with clip-on style handlebars and a lighter fairing, giving a lower overall weight than the RT. Panniers and a top box were available as luggage options, and ABS braking was optional. The styling was controversial, especially the hexagon-shaped vertical headlight, which Motor Cycle News called quirky.
