The BMW K 1600 GT is a touring motorcycle from BMW Motorrad, presented at the Intermot fair in October 2010 and launched in March 2011 at a base price of 19,900 euros, with about 68,000 sold by the facelift of February 2022. It is powered by a six-cylinder petrol engine designed to be narrow, with high torque at low revs, more than 100 Nm even at idle speed, and low mass: an aluminium block, a bore of 72 mm and a total of 102.6 kg, 25 kg more than the four-cylinder of the K 1300 GT, whose 55 degree cylinder inclination it took over. It has electronic throttle, intake manifold injection and a compression ratio of 12.2 to 1, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds; the Euro 5 update of 2022 brought 118 kW at 6,750 rpm and 180 Nm. An aluminium bridge frame, a single-sided swingarm and a Duolever front suspension carry three riding modes and ABS as standard, with electronic suspension adjustment optional. It was the first motorcycle in the world to offer adaptive cornering light on request, and versions include the K 1600 GTL, the K 1600 B bagger of 2017 and the Grand America.
