The BMW K 1300 GT is a fully faired sport touring motorcycle from the German maker BMW, unveiled on 7 October 2008 at the Intermot motorcycle show in Cologne. Like every model of the K series it was built at the BMW plant in Berlin Spandau, and in 2011 it was replaced by the K 1600 GT. The letters GT stand for Grand Tourismo. It is based on the K 1200 GT and uses a liquid cooled four cylinder engine of 1,293 cubic centimetres that makes 118 kilowatts, with a shaft final drive, a Duolever front suspension and an aluminium bridge frame. The manufacturer gives a top speed of 260 kilometres per hour. Rivals named for it include the Yamaha FJR1300, the Kawasaki 1400GTR, the Moto Guzzi Norge and the Honda ST1300 Pan European.
