BMW K 1100 LT

The BMW K 1100 LT is a BMW touring motorcycle that was offered between 1991 and 1998. The tourer replaced the K 100 LT, which had become technically outdated after five years of production. It was the first BMW motorcycle with the in-line engine bored out from 987 to 1092 cc, installed lying lengthwise with four valves per cylinder, and with the Paralever rear suspension from the K 100 sport versions and the K1. At its launch in 1991 it had a base price of 22,850 marks, making it the most expensive model in the BMW motorcycle range, and for the first time it could be ordered with a regulated catalytic converter at extra cost. From 1993 the Special Edition was the first BMW model with a second-generation anti-lock braking system.
