BMW K 100 RT

The BMW K 100 RT is a touring motorcycle from BMW with an in-line four-cylinder engine. It is the touring model of the K 100 series, built 22,335 times between 1984 and 1989 at the BMW plant in Berlin-Spandau, RT standing internationally for road tourer. Beyond the equipment of the basic K 100 it has a large wind-deflecting fairing tuned for touring and an upright riding position, the side-mounted BMW luggage system in body colour and a radio preparation as standard. The K 100 LT, the luxury tourer, added a top case and the Nivomat self-levelling shock absorber, a system that proved technically unsuccessful. The first models had a more steeply raked screen close to the rider with a spoiler on its upper edge.
