BMW K 100 RS

The BMW K 100 RS is a touring and sports motorcycle from BMW with an in-line four-cylinder engine lying along the direction of travel. RS stands in BMW usage for travel sport, first introduced on the R 100 RS in 1976, and internationally for road sport. As a sport-touring machine it is the sporting top model of the K 100 series. On top of the basic K 100 it has a wind-tunnel optimised full fairing with a low spoilered screen and side mirrors with built-in indicators. Its sister model the RT shares the technical data but has a comfort-oriented fairing with a taller touring screen and wide handlebars, giving a lower top speed but more relaxed riding. The K 100 RS 4V and later the K 1100 RS followed it.
