BMW S1000RR

The BMW S1000RR is a German inline four-cylinder sport motorcycle built by BMW Motorrad, introduced in 2009 as the company's first entry into the open-class sport bike category previously dominated by Japanese and Italian manufacturers. Built with an advanced electronic rider-assistance suite, including traction control and multiple selectable engine and suspension modes, that was unusually sophisticated for a production sport bike at its introduction, the S1000RR was developed partly to support BMW's entry into the Superbike World Championship. Its combination of high engine output and advanced electronics is widely credited with prompting rival manufacturers to add similar rider-assistance technology to their own competing sport bike models in the years that followed.
