ST-class armored boat

Marine Vehicles

The ST class was a type of armored boat of the Imperial Japanese Army that served during World War II. It was developed in 1940 mainly for riverine patrol in China, a role that the Soukoutei-class armored boat had filled before it. The prototype was 11 meters long with a beam of 2.00 meters and a draught of 1.10 meters, and its speed was 9.65 knots. The boats carried a 37 mm gun. All of the ships were built at the Yokohama shipyard of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which makes the class one of the army watercraft produced by that company.
