The Sikorsky SH-60 and MH-60 Seahawk is a twin-turboshaft, multi-mission US Navy helicopter based on the Army UH-60 Black Hawk and a member of the Sikorsky S-70 family. Its main changes are folding rotor blades and a hinged tail that shrink its footprint aboard ships. The Navy bought it as the SH-60B, SH-60F, HH-60H, MH-60R and MH-60S for anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare, special warfare insertion, search and rescue, vertical replenishment and medical evacuation. The first YSH-60B flew on 12 December 1979 and the SH-60B entered service in 1984, replacing the Kaman SH-2 Seasprite; the SH-60B left Navy service in 2015 and the F and H models followed in 2016.
