Sikorsky CH-148 Cyclone

Lighter-Than-Air Craft and Rotorcraft

The Sikorsky CH-148 Cyclone is a twin-engine, multi-role shipborne helicopter that Sikorsky developed for the Canadian Armed Forces as a military variant of the S-92. It is designed for shipboard operations and replaced the CH-124 Sea King, which Canada flew from 1963 to 2018. The first production aircraft flew in Florida on 15 November 2008, and the Cyclone entered operational service with the Royal Canadian Air Force in 2018. It flies anti-submarine warfare, surveillance and search and rescue missions from Royal Canadian Navy frigates and, unlike the Sea King, cannot float on water.
