The Sikorsky and Lockheed Martin VH-92 Patriot is an American helicopter flown in the US Marine Corps Marine One presidential transport fleet, a militarised variant of the Sikorsky S-92. Sikorsky entered the VH-92 in the early 2000s VXX competition to replace the VH-3D Sea King and VH-60N White Hawk, but lost to the Lockheed Martin VH-71 Kestrel; the competition was restarted in 2010 after VH-71 costs ballooned. The design passed its Critical Design Review in July 2016, and the first VH-92A made its maiden flight at the Sikorsky facility in Stratford, Connecticut, on 28 July 2017.
