Sikorsky MH-60 Jayhawk

Lighter-Than-Air Craft and Rotorcraft

The Sikorsky MH-60T Jayhawk is a multi-mission, twin-engine, medium-range helicopter built by Sikorsky Aircraft and operated by the US Coast Guard for search and rescue, law enforcement, military readiness and marine environmental protection. Originally designated HH-60J and redesignated after an upgrade in 2007, it was chosen to replace the HH-3F Pelican and is a member of the S-70 family based on the Navy SH-60 Seahawk. Development began in September 1986, the first flight was on 8 August 1989 and the first HH-60J entered Coast Guard service in June 1990. Production ended in 1996 after 42 were built, and six retired Seahawks were remanufactured to MH-60T standard from 2010.
