Robinson R22

Lighter-Than-Air Craft and Rotorcraft

The Robinson R22 is an American two-seat light helicopter built by Robinson Helicopter Company, first flown in 1975 and certified for production in the early 1980s, designed from the outset to be a simple, inexpensive helicopter that would substantially lower the cost of helicopter flight training and personal ownership. Its low purchase price and low operating cost relative to other helicopters made it especially popular with flight schools, and it became one of the best-selling light helicopters ever built, introducing large numbers of pilots worldwide to their first helicopter flying hours.
