The Mil Mi-24 Hind is a Soviet designed attack and troop transport helicopter built by Mil beginning in the 1970s. It is unusual among attack helicopters for also carrying a troop compartment behind its heavily armed and armored cockpit, a combination that let it deliver and support infantry in the same mission. It was used extensively during the Soviet-Afghan war and has since been exported widely and flown in numerous conflicts.
