The Boeing Vertol CH-46 Sea Knight is an American twin rotor tandem helicopter used by the United States Marine Corps and Navy from the 1960s for medium lift troop and cargo transport. Instead of a single main rotor and tail rotor it carries two overlapping rotors mounted fore and aft, a configuration that gave it a distinctive silhouette and a long service career until the Marine Corps replaced it with the Bell V-22 Osprey.
