All Ancient Roads and Trade Routes

Roads and caravan routes of antiquity that tied empires together and carried trade across Asia and Europe. An entry belongs here when the cited article calls the road an ancient road or trade route. It excludes modern highway systems. Entries are placed by what their own cited article says, so each one sits in the narrowest group its source supports, and the group page lists it beside the other members. It is one of the groups under the Roads, Highways and Trade Routes subcategory of the Transport atlas, which has its own browse page listing every group and member.
