The Piper PA-28 Cherokee is a family of single engine, low wing light aircraft that Piper Aircraft introduced in the early 1960s, built with a simple, all metal, constant chord wing that made it inexpensive to manufacture and maintain. Offered across many variants from basic trainers to faster cross country models, it became, alongside the Cessna 172, one of the most widely used aircraft for flight training and personal flying in the world.
