The Cessna 150 is an American two-seat light aircraft built by Cessna, introduced in 1958 as a successor to the earlier Cessna 140 and built with a tricycle landing gear and all-metal construction that made it simpler to fly and maintain than many contemporaries. Widely adopted by flight schools for its docile handling characteristics and low operating cost, it became one of the most-produced light aircraft in aviation history before being succeeded in the late 1970s by the closely related and slightly more powerful Cessna 152.
